FLOTTWEG was founded in Munich in 1911 by Gustav Otto, son of the famous inventor of the OTTO internal combustion engine, in order to manufacture aircraft, motor-cycle and motorbike engines.
In the 1950s Flottweg started the production of centrifugal separators, on which Flottweg has been focusing till today with more than 10.000 Decanter centrifuges sold worldwide for a wide range of applications. Today, the factory of Flottweg is located in Vilsbiburg of Bavaria in modern facilities which are under continuous expansion. Trade mark of Flottweg is the complete engineering and fabrication of the centrifuges in Germany.
The applications cover many market sectors such food, beverage, chemical and pharmaceutical, mineral oil and water & wastewater industries.
In Greece, the first municipal sludge decanter centrifuge of Flottweg was installed in Kalamata as early as in 1981. Today, Flottweg has become by far the market leader in Greece thanks to the support of New Engineering Trading SA with decanter centrifuges in operation in the largest wastewater treatment plants of Greece such as Psyttalia (Athens), Sindos (Thessaloniki), Patras, Iraklio (Crete), Larissa, Volos, Ioannina, Argos, Komotini, Kavala, Chania, Rhodes and others as well as in Oil Refineries such as Motor-Oil SA in Korinth and HELPE SA in Elefsina and Aspropyrgos.
Flottweg’s municipal sludge decanter centrifuge range consists of machines with bowl diameter from 300 mm up to 920 mm, with centrifugal force exceeding 4.000xg in the smaller machines of the range and 3.000xg in the larger machines and solid separation scroll torque up to 24.000 Nm (depending on machine size), figures which are higher than any competitor's. The construction of all wetted parts is made of high corrosion resisting duplex stainless steel and AISI 316Ti/316L together with additional special surface protection materials.
Feed capacity range of sludge thickening decanter centrifuges:
20-250 m3/hr.
Feed capacity range of sludge dewatering decanter centrifuges:
5-150 m3/hr.
