HUBERT STAVOREN
Surface Aerators

The Dutch company Hubert Stavoren BV was founded in 1880 and has more than 100 years experience in water and wastewater treatment. In the course of all these years Hubert has offered equipment and services throughout the world, which vary from the supply of small aerators to the execution of turnkey water and wastewater treatment plant projects.

The use of mechanical equipment for the addition of oxygen into the wastewater for treatment goes back to as early as 1880. Aerators were first used in 1920 and became very popular in the Netherlands.

Since 1960 Hubert has supplied various types of aerators, initially the type known as Simcar and later on in 1973 by launching the type HB-Aerator Hubert became one of the most known vertical shaft surface aerator manufacturer.

In 1990 Hubert developed a new type of vertical aerator named Hubair which due to an innovative design and impeller shape increased the oxygenation efficiency by at least 15% in comparison with the older cone aerators.

Hubair® consists of a flat horizontal rotating plate which carries 12 peripheral blades that stir the surface of the tank. This innovative design assures the reduction of energy losses into friction and not only improves the oxygen transfer efficiency but also reduces the loads imposed onto the bearings of the gear unit. The aerator can be installed either on a bridge or on floats (floating aerator).

Advantages

Increased efficiency by 15% or more: 2.0-3.2 kgrO2/kWh.
Reduced aerosol spray to the surrounding.
Less load to the gear unit.
Increased oxygen transfer rate by a single aerator (up to 400 kgrO2/hr).
High mixing effect and transport velocities into oxidation ditches (carrousel).
